旅の間に何かブログアップできるかと思ったら、ダメでした。でも、その間、暇つぶしに今までずーっとどうにかしたいと思っていた残り毛糸を使って鍋つかみを編みました。 – I thought I could write one blog post during the trip, but didn’t get to it. But, I crocheted two daisy potholders with leftover yarn that I always wanted to get rid of.

4月に引越しをしてきてから、色々な修理をしてきましたが、これが多分最後の大きな修理工事になると思います。あとは、キッチンの洗浄機やオーブンの入れ替えぐらいでしょうか。 – We have done so many home improvement projects on the house since we moved into the house in April. I believe, however, that this is the last big construction project. We may replace dishwashers and ovens in the kitchen but it’s a small project.
旅の理由はバンちゃんのお母さんのお見舞いです。腰の骨を折ってから2ヶ月が経ち、回復に向かっていますが、まだ24時間体制でケアの人がついています。いいニュースが一つ。8月半ばからいよいよ歩く訓練を始めるとのことです。 – The purpose of the trip was to visit Banchan’s mom who is in bed for two months since breaking her hip bone. She had recovered very well in many ways but still needs 24/7 care. One good news is that she can start a new walking exercise from mid-August.
バンちゃんのお兄さんは Lake Isabella という所に引っ越したので、そこにも行って見ました。 – We also visit Banchan’s brother who moved into Lake Isabella.

幸い、私たちは火事現場からかなり離れていたので安全でした。でも、消化するための飛行機が頭上を行き交っている現場を初めて目撃して少々興奮しました。携帯のカメラなので不鮮明ですが、白い粒が飛行機で、赤い煙のようなものが消化噴煙です。 – Luckily we were quite far away from the fire, and very safe. 時間もあまりなかったので、少しだけKern 川沿いを歩いて帰って来ました。なかなか面白そうな場所なので、次回はもう少し時間が取れるといいですね。 – We walked along the Kern River only a short distance as we didn’t have much time. We hope we can spend much more time to explore this area when we visit here next time.
