idealist というボランティアのマッチング団体を通して年に1回か2回ぐらい、写真を通して出来ることがあったらさせていただいてます。 Through the volunteer matching organization called idealist, I do what I can through photography about once or twice a year.

今回は Walk to End Alzheimer’s のイベントの写真を撮らせていただきました。 This time, I took photos at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event.

私たちの住む町でのイベントはまだ3回目だそうで、それほど大きくはありません。でも、まだまだこれから大きくなりそうなムーブメントを感じました。　The event in our town is only the third time they have done it, so it’s not very big. However, I felt that it is still a movement that will grow significantly in the future.

カメラを通してみると、見えないものが見えてきます。あちこちで感動のシーンがあり、参加できて良かったな、来年も参加したいと思いました。　When I look through the camera, things that are invisible become visible. There are touching scenes everywhere, and I’m glad I could participate. I want to participate again next year.

このイベントのために息子もカリフォルニアから来てくれました。カメラバッグを持ったりして手伝うと言っていただけでしたが、2台目のカメラで結構な量のいい写真を撮ってくれました。やはり２つの目より4っつの目の方がいいですね。　My son also came from California for this event. He said he would help me by carrying my camera bag and such, but he ended up taking a considerable number of good photos with the second camera. After all, four eyes are better than two.

メイプルも彼女なりの参加方法で良い経験になりました。 Maple also had a good experience with her own way of participating.
