私の住む街を見下ろします。 This is the view looking down towards my town.

この景色はいつも「大陸プレートは動いている。地球は生きている。」と思い起こさせてくれます。 It always make me realize, “The continental plate is moving. The earth is living.”

地球40億年の歴史が作り上げた景色。私たちには見えないけれど、これから先もどんどん動いて変わっていくんですね。 The 4 billion years of Earth’s history created this view. And it changes as time goes by.

ところで、ペースを設定すればベルトが動いてくれるトレッドミルを卒業して、外を走ろうと思ってます。外を走ると自分のペースがわからないので、その練習です。どうやって訓練したらいいのでしょう。大地が私のペースに合わせて動いてくれたら簡単なんですけどね。By the way, I am thinking about graduating from running on the treadmill which moves the belt constantly based on my pace setting, to start running on roads instead. At this point, I have no idea how fast I am running when I run outside. So, it is a training to get my desired pace, but I don’t know how to train myself yet. It will be so nice if the ground can move for me at my pace…

大地が動くといえば、地球は自転してますよね。地球は時速1669キロメートルで動いているらしいです。それなら、赤道直下だと1秒間ジャンプしたら470m弱移動できそうなものですよね。（注参照）そんなことが出来たら 21秒、21回のジャンプで10km走れちゃう計算になります。(100,000m/470m=21) Speaking of which, the earth spins on its axis. The speed at Earth’s surface on the equator is 1037 mph. If so, at the equator, couldn’t we move 470m (0.29 miles) if we jumped into the air for 1 second? (Note below) If such a thing was really possible, we could run 10K in 21 seconds, or 21 jumps.

今日も43℃の暑さなので、バカなことを考えて涼んでみました。 It’s so hot today again. The temperature went above 110°F, so my mind wanders around silly thoughts to cool off.
