冬が寒いのは当然のことですが、改めて寒いと思ってます。　It’s natural that winter is cold, but I feel it’s even colder now.

朝には17F (-8.3C)となり、鳥達も水が凍って飲めないので困っています。　By morning the temperature had dropped to 17F (-8.3C), and the birds were having trouble because the water had frozen and they couldn’t drink.

また、庭のカクタスには霜除け、寒さ避けとして布をかけてあげています。　We also cover the cactus in our garden with cloth to protect them from frost and the cold.

この地域でこれ以上寒くなることはもうないと願います。　Hopefully it never gets any colder in this area.

この冬、私たちは非常に寒い所に行く予定です。 -40F (-40C) 以下になるらしい。それに備えて、上は7重、下は4重、2重構造のブーツ、目出し帽、3重のミトン、フル装備を着てみました。あとは使い捨てカイロを上から下まで貼りまくる。これでバッチリなはずです。　This winter, we plan to visit a very cold place and have learned that It could be -40F (-40C) or below, apparently. I’ve put on a full set of gear: seven top layers and four bottom layers, double-layered boots, a balaclava, triple-layered mittens, and disposable heating pads stuck all over my body. That should be enough.
