新世界の9本の初列風切を持つ鳥のグループは総称してフィンチとよく言われます。そして、このグループには870種もの鳥が所属しています。The New World Nine-primaried Oscines (Emberizoidea) group is often collectively referred to as the finches. And as many as 870 species belong to this group.

とは言え、この辺の分類には自信がありません。専門家の間でも未だに流動的だからです。　However, I am not sure about the classification of this area. It is still in flux, even among experts.

実際、スズメ目は全体の鳥の種の半分以上をしめていて、その中でも更にスズメ亜目、スズメ小目、スズメ上科と分類されています。そして、それぞれの見かけが非常に似ている。　In fact, the order Passeriformes comprises more than half of all bird species, which are further classified as the suborder Passeri, the infraorder Passerida, and the superfamily Passeridea.
