お気に入りのピアノとチェロの音楽グループ、ピアノガイがTuachanに帰ってきてくれました。昨夜、一晩だけのコンサートだったので、超満員でした。 The Piano Guys came back to Tuacahn amphitheater last night. It was fully packed because they performed only one night, and we all know that they are great performers.

残念ながら演奏中の写真はありません。音楽はクラシックとモダンのフュージョンみたいなものでしょうか。誰もが笑いこけるコンサート内容ですが、彼らの優しさがジワジワと伝わる大好きなコンサートです。 Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures during the show. Their music is like a fusion of classical and modern. Their talk was so funny that we all laughed and laughed, yet at the same time we could find their love and kindness between the words. That’s why I like them.

チェロ奏者のスティーブは32本も持っていますが、前回のコンサートの時もこの4本が活躍していた様に記憶しています。彼の凄さはチェロ演奏だけではなく、足元にある器具を演奏中に起用に操り、パーカッションやその他の効果音を取り入れて音楽を増幅させることができることです。 The cellist, Steve, owns 38 cellos. But I remember that he used the same four cellos last night as he did in the last concert we saw as well. His talent isn’t limited to the cello only. The gadgets around his chair on the floor are operated by his feet. He steps on those to create unusual effects, slaps the cellos to create percussion sounds, and expands the music quality while he plays cello.

彼らはセイントジョージ出身グループです。でも多忙なのでいつ帰って来られるのかわかりません。記念に彼らのロゴ、ピアノとチェロが歯車の中で重なり合っている図柄、のTシャツをバンちゃんに買ってもらいました。They grew up and started the group activities in St. George. But we don’t know when they will come back again as they are so busy. So Banchan bought me a T-shirt with their logo, a piano and cello overlapping in the wheel, on the front.

やりたい事をすればいい – Do What You Want To Do!

レッドクリフの崖っぷちのポケットに建てられた Tuacahn 野外コンサートホールに、ビーチボーイズがやって来た。
The Beach Boys came to Tuacahn outdoor amphitheater located in at a pocket of red cliffs.

当然、演奏自体はベストの時とは違う。でも人が作り出す「みんな元気だ〜！」という奏者と聴衆が作り出す会場の雰囲気は、やっぱりライブが一番ねと再確認させてくれる。
Of course, the performance level wasn’t as good as it used to be. But still the live music is best because the players and audience make the very special “high” moment together. The entire theater was dancing together.

ボーカルのマイク ラブはすでに79歳。将来、車椅子に乗ってでもコンサートを続けるかもしれないと思わせるほど、意欲とパワーがあった。
Mike Love, the vocal, is already 79 years old. But his will power was so great that it made me think that he might be singing on the stage even with a wheelchair in the future.

元気がなくなった時には思い出そう。「好きならすればいい。」「やりたい事をすればいい！」
“If you like it, do it.” “Do what you want to do!” I will remember that when I don’t feel energetic.

Piano Guys Concert

一昨日、12月4日の夜は雨でしたが、1時間以上かけて Cedar City の南ユタ州立大学まで行って来ました。なぜなら、大ファンの The Piano Guys のコンサートがあったからです。- I am a huge fan if The Piano Guys.  So we went to see their concert at Southern Utah University in Cedar City about an hour away from our house, even though it was raining heavily, on December 4th. 

知らなかったんですが、彼らはここセイントジョージの出身なんです。ピアノショップに来ていた仲間といつの間にかグループ活動を始めていたら、こんなに有名になってしまった。- I didn’t know this, but Saint George is their home town.  Everything started from a piano shop in St George, and through YouTube, they became so famous.

ＣDとiTuneでしか聞いていなかった私にとって、コンサートはびっくり仰天、想像をはるかに越えて楽しんで来ました。- For someone like me, who knew them only through CD’s and iTunes, their concert was a huge surprise, beyond my expectation.  I enjoyed the concert immensely.  

コンサートに行かなければ、わからないんですねー。だから詳しいことは秘密です。- I don’t want to tell you exactly how it went because you need to see it for yourself.  I think I rediscovered their charm through the concert.  

彼らのメッセージは、笑いの中で優しい。しかも私たちを勇気付けてくれる、そんな感じです。- Their message is always gentle through funny jokes, yet gives you courage to go through all the ups and downs of our lives.
