3度目のアートショー My Third Art Show

去年の末に2回、アートショーに作品応募しましたが、入賞しませんでした。　I entered my work in two art shows at the end of last year but did not win a prize.

今週の水曜日に、再び応募します。　I will enter another art show this Wednesday.

今回のショーのテーマは “My Favorite” （私のお気に入り）です。そして、こちらがわたしが選んだ3点です。　The theme of this show is “My Favorite”. And here are the three pieces I chose.

ザイオン国立公園の冬景色、”Snow 雪”、アリゾナ州北部の丘の風景と鱗雲の”Salmon Filet サーモンの切り身” 、そして題名に苦しんだもう一点、嵐が来る前の一瞬の光を受けた雑草、”The Last Light 最後の光” です。　 “Snow,” a winter scene in Zion National Park; “Salmon Filet,” a hillside landscape and scaly clouds in northern Arizona; and “The Last Light,” a weed that caught the light moments before the storm hit.

必要な書類に記入して、出品料も払い、パッキングもして、準備完了です。　I have filled out the necessary forms, paid the exhibit fee, packed, and they are ready to go.

結果は今週末にわかることになっています。３度目の何とかと言いますから、ちょっと期待します。 We are supposed to find out the results Friday of this coming week. There is a saying, “third time’s a charm”, so I’m kind of hoping.

アートショー Art Walk

私たちのコミュニティーのクラブハウスで、アートショーがありました。そして、なんとバンちゃんもブースをもらうことが出来て、初参加となりました。 We had an Art Walk at our club house in the community we live in. And Banchan made his debut for displaying his photographs.

突然やってきたチャンスにどう対処していいかわからなかった様ですが、主催者さんのアドバイスをもらってなんとか形になりました。The opportunity came to him suddenly. So he didn’t know what to do to make his booth at first, but with the organizer’s advice, he came up with a very nice booth.

私は展示の際にお手伝いしただけです。I only helped him to carry pictures and stands.

売るのを目的にしている人もいれば、ただ展示したいだけの人もいました。Some people wanted to sell their art work, but some simply wanted to display their work.

なんと、バンちゃんの作品も一枚売れました。We didn’t expect anything out of this, but he sold one of his pictures!!!

私が欲しかった彫刻は2度目に行った時には売られていました。 I found a sculpture piece that I wanted to buy. But when I went back there the second time, it had been sold already.

多くの人たちと話す機会が持てて楽しかったです。旅先で絵を描いたり、ちょっとした時間に手を動かして作り上げたり、好きな事をしてるのがすごくわかりました。刺激されました。 I enjoyed talking to a variety of people. Some of them paint pictures during their vacations. Some of them make things when they have a little time. In any case, I understand that all of them enjoy doing things that they love to do. I was inspired from them very much.
