Gila Trail

Gila trail is one of the longest trails in Snow Canyon State Park.

We have already hiked the south end and middle of the trail before. This time, we started hiking from the north. We had only two hours until sunset. It was a 4 mile roundtrip hike.

The snow on the trail hasn’t melted in shady places because we have had below freezing nights and cold daytime temperatures recently.

A Cholla cactus looks happy getting sunlight.

We saw the snow covered Pine Valley Mountains from a far distance.

The inside of the canyon was already dark, but the view was still great to me.

I was enjoying it very much simply being there. I was running on and off, but fell forward onto the ground hard while looking at the fascinating view.

I am glad I didn’t have my camera.

My cell phone got the most damage, and I got a bruise on my right toe, knee, and palm.

It was *still* a fun sunset hike although I hurt myself.
