再び、私が走る時にいつも使う製品紹介です。 Again, I am introducing another product that I use when I run.

タイトルを正確に言い換えると、「鼻が低くても快適に使えるサングラス」です。 The title can be re-phrased to be “Sunglasses for the people who don’t have a tall nose bridge.”

日本人の鼻は低く、従来のサングラスは、汗ばんだり、時間が経てばずるずる落ちてきてしまいます。特にスポーツをする人たちには、クリティカルな問題です。そこで、そんな問題を解決する為にジゴスペックという会社がエアフライを開発してくれました。 Japanese people’s noses are small and don’t have tall nose bridges in general. So the conventional sunglasses slide easily especially during vigorous activity. It’s a critical issue for people who love to do active sports. So, a company called Zygospec developed AirFly sunglasses to solve this problem.

あくまでも私の想像ですが、「そもそもの問題が鼻パッドにあるんなら、そんなもの取ってしまえ。その代わり、頬ボネで支えればいい。」みたいな斬新な考えからスタートしたんじゃないでしょうか。This is only my guess, but I think someone had a radically new idea, “If the problem is the nose pad, why don’t we remove it. We can add cheek bone support instead.” Since then they improved the product to this point.

私のタイプは一枚のカーブしたレンズがついているAF-301 BKシリーズです。 My version, AF-301 Bike series, has only one curved lens.

ずれ落ちることがないので、着用しているのを忘れてしまうほどいつまででもつけていられます。また、紫外線を99％カットしてくれるのに、室内でも使えるほどよく見えます。外に出ると勿論、レンズに色がつきます。 It is very light and doesn’t move at all, so I often forget that I am wearing it. It eliminates 99% of UV light, yet, I can still see things very well, even in the house. Needless to say, the lens adds a tint when I go out.

不都合さは、やっぱり技術革新をもたらしてくれるんですね。 A problem will indeed bring innovation.
