House Finches Everywhere.

– These are House Finches which I often found in our backyard when we lived in California as well.  They are quite sturdy and can adapt themselves into variety of environments.

– They are quite common birds, but it gives me new excitement as if they are different birds when I see them on Ocotillo branches in Saint George, which I like to call lizard country.

– I found a male House Finch on a branch of Creosote bush.  You better clean up around your beak.

– Oh, excuse me, it’s your lunch time.

– Now I understand why I find them in Creosote bushes often.  There are seeds inside the fluffy puff balls.  House Finches carefully extract the seeds and eat them.  That’s why the fluffy things are around his beak.
